World Travels and Wedding Bells

Hello friends.  How has your summer been?  Mine has been a whirlwind of crazy experiences and life-changing moments.

I studied in Italy for about a month.

*I studied at a school in Perugia Italy, and I got to visit Assisi, Florence, Pompeii, Capri, Ischia, and Rome.  Italy is a beautiful country.*

My family and I spend a week and a half in Iceland. (These photos are my mother’s; my pictures, for whatever reason, don’t want to download onto my computer.)

*We did a lot of hiking, including a 15 mile hike.  We snorkeled between tectonic plates, hiked on a glacier, rode a RIB boat around the Westmann Islands, and spent a lot of time driving around the highlands.  Iceland is crazy, absolutely the land of fire and ice, and the midnight sun.*

I started my senior year of college today.

And, on August 19th, in misty rain, applauded by bell chimes, my boyfriend asked me to marry him.

I may not have been home much this summer, but I will always remember all of the incredible things I experienced.

Let the wedding planning, and final school year, begin!

Ciao for now,

Julia Xx
